I’ve got a Livestream page set up and I figure I’ll go on tonight and draw something from scratch, if anyone’s interested. It’ll be an AT character, but not part of the 30DoA.
You can swing around, ask questions, hang out, or be a little creepy and just watch what’s going on without actually participating (my favourite thing to do). It’ll also be saved for later in case you miss it.
So if you’re down, I’ll be there for about an hour and a half, starting at 8 PM EST.
Also, tomorrow’s the last day of June. I can’t believe the 30 days are almost up! It’s been a hell of a ride, and I’m very grateful for all the support I’ve received to keep me going.
Hi there, I'm sure you've had this plenty but I love the 30 days of adventure pics you've done. They're really really good.
Would you be willing to put them up on a shop somewhere where I can get a couple of canvas prints of them? Or perhaps send me some hi-res versions in exchange for a little money so I can get them printed?
Thanks, man! I’m glad you like ‘em!
When the month is over, I’ll post a link to download all of the hi-res files in one zipped folder so you can do whatever you want with them, but at 300 dpi they’ll print at about 2”x3.5”. You’re always free to resize them, too, or put all the pieces together in a giant collage (I’ll also be posting that when the month is over).
If you can, try printing one of them a little bigger than 2”x3.5” and let me know how it goes.
In hindsight, I should’ve made them a bit bigger, but the small size was supposed to help me punch these babies out a bit faster.
(Please don’t take that literally. No babies were harmed in the making of these pictures.)
I’ve had messages about this from a few people, so I hope this helps! I recorded my screen at the beginning of the month as I drew one of the characters, from start to finish. I’ve been having some trouble getting the file ready and edited, though, so I did what any average, somewhat tech-savvy twenty-something would do:
Give up and put the whole friggin’ thing on the Internet.
There’s 2 files at around 50 mb each, one is about 40 minutes of me laying down the flats, and then the other one is 20 minutes of me adding the shadows and highlights.
There’s a lot of great budding artists out there. Some of the people I’m following here on Tumblr, like GetVent, Gigifritter and JoeBloodyHunter, are bursting at the seams with style and talent, but I’d like to take this moment to talk about one particular illustrator: Andrew Green!
He’s been around for a while, but he finally started a webcomic called “The Super Gay Adventures of Ross Boston,” and it’s off to an amazing start! I’m a huge fan of his character designs and choice of colours (Heck, I even drew this picture of the main character, Ross Boston, not too long ago…). So if you’ve got a few moments to spare, I highly recommend you check out the first handful of pages he posted, and stay tuned every Friday for an update!
Oh, and P.S…
Today’s 30DOA update is officially my favourite one so far. Not kidding. Keep an eye out sometime this afternoon. You won’t be disappointed ;)
I’m sorry if I didn’t have a chance to answer all of your messages, but I’ve read through all of them and I’m slowly getting through ‘em. It’s just taking some time…
Yesterday was crazy. Just to let you guys know, Friday morning I was at 14 followers.
…As of 4:32 PM today, I’m at 3,550 followers.
When I first logged onto my Tumblr after work on Friday and saw what happened, I went from amazement, to confusion, to fear, and then to sheer panic. I just wanted to lie down on the floor and do nothing. So I stepped away from the computer, went out for a bit, and got some fresh air. I feel a lot better now.
I just wanted to say thank you, to everyone who reblogged or liked a photo, everyone who started following me, and to the Frederator blog for reposting my pictures. The amount of positive feedback I’ve been getting is nothing short of outstanding, and I really appreciate everything that’s happened over the past 48 hours.
Also, to everyone who’s been sending requests, I do read them and take them into consideration, but I have a list already prepared of the characters that I want to do. It’s just a matter of figuring out when to draw them, or if any should be replaced.
Oh, and it’s safe to say my e-mail inbox was obliterated.
(It took a while to clean it all up, but I think I’m back to normal now.)
Actually, I don’t :(. It’s not the fried part that I don’t like, just the chicken. I’m not a vegetarian, but aside from chicken wings, I get nauseous when I eat chicken right off the bone. I just can’t do it.
